After weeks and weeks of pretense, the Uganda Police has finally given Bobi Wine a green light to have an Easter Monday show at Busaabala.
The green light did come with some very strict rules to be followed by the event organizers on events where Bobi Wine will perform.
A letter from the Police Director of Operations, Mr Asumani Mugyenyi, dated 15th April 2019 addressed to Abitex Management said,
Police has taken note of your intended events, however for comprehensive security planning, there is need for the following information from you the organisers; clearances to use the intended venue, detailed programme for each activity and lists of performers at each venue.
The Police letter stated
Bobi Wine and his promoters, Bajjo Events and Abitex Promotions have long claimed that they notified the police in time to avoid excuses. Bajjo also said that Ugandans should know that they are event organizers who know the police requirements for an event.
It should be remembered that lat year in December (26th), Bobi Wine was prohibited from having a show at One Love Beach. The police came up with an excuse that seemed lame to everyone that Bobi Wine did not notify them in time.
The last show held at Busaabala last year was Kyarenga Concert and it pulled an estimated thirty thousand people. We are waiting to see how the this Easter Monday will play out in terms of numbers.
